A blood test is the most straightforward scientific approach recommended for determining testosterone levels which invariably come at a cost. Studies have shown that falling in love lowers men’s testosterone levels while increasing women’s levels. It is assumed that these changes lead to a temporary reduction in behavioral differences between the sexes.

Recent studies have also shown that testosterone level plays a major role in risk-taking when making financial decisions. Fatherhood also lowers testosterone levels in men, suggesting that the resulting emotional and behavioral changes promote parental care, as they affect the entire body. Evidence also suggests that low testosterone levels may be a risk factor for cognitive decline and possibly Alzheimer’s-type dementia.

It is necessary to note that there are certain environmental factors affecting testosterone levels.

The loss of status or dominance in men can lead to a decrease in testosterone level, which invariably implies that the power implied is motivating an increase in testosterone.

Aging and a zinc deficiency can also lead to low testosterone levels.

However, to determine our testosterone levels we can perform these simple steps which in and of themselves may not be perfect.
